12 Week Fun & Fit Challenge!

We are coming up on the end of the year and many of us (myself included) have left some of our New Year’s Resolutions from the beginning of the year by the wayside. But there’s still 3 more months left to go. And with that in mind I’m creating a new program: a 12 Week Fitness Challenge!

I know this is short notice. I just decided to do this not very long ago. But I’m starting it on the last day of September. That way it’ll end just before the holidays. This program is absolutely free, so there’s no excuse to joining at least as far as money is concerned. Yet I plan on putting in as much value as you would expect from a program that you’d have to pay for.

What will this challenge consist of? Well, it really depends on your level of commitment. I am willing to run 2 morning boot camp classes every week (I’m thinking Tues and Sat from 8:30-9:30 at Pease Park) if I get at least 6 people committed to doing it. If those days don’t work for people who are interested in doing this, let me know and maybe we can pick different days.

I am also willing to create a short weekly video focused on weight loss motivation, diet, and training for the challenge. But, again, this is only if I get enough people who are interested.

At the very least, I have created a facebook page called The Fun & Fit Lifestyle Program where I will post everything I can to help you succeed in making this year a success in your fitness and weight loss goals.

I called the page The Fun & Fit Lifestyle Program because I am not a believer in “quick fix” weight loss programs. Not only can they be unhealthy, but they won’t last. I believe that the key to long-term weight loss is to make it fun to be healthy. You don’t have to eat boring foods and run yourself into the ground in order to lose weight. There are ways to approach your weight loss journey that make the process something you enjoy and want to stick with for the rest of your life.

My own experience in losing weight has taught me a lot. At the time I became a certified Personal Trainer and Boot Camp Instructor I was still not where I wanted to be in my own fitness level. So I decided that I would use myself as a test subject in order to find the keys to diet and fitness that you can’t learn from a book or a certification program. I wanted to figure out how to translate the knowledge that I had gained into practical application.

Over the course of about 5 months I lost about 20lbs (most of it in the first 2-3 months) while also figuring out ways to stay motivated, to stay focused on my diet, and to make the whole process easier and much more fun. I’ve been on both sides of the scale–the depressing side and the exciting one–so I personally know the challenges that we all have to face in order to achieve the body we want. And I’ve learned many tricks that will help you on your journey.
